There’s no money to fund education in Oakland, California (and the rest of California and the US) for low-income students and communities, but there are 144 billionaires in California with total assets of $9.1 trillion. If we imposed $8.9 trillion in taxes on them, they would each still have $1 Billion and we would have $8.95 TRILLION in taxes for public use! For perspective, the annual Gross Domestic Product of the entire United States is $20 Trillion. Never mind that they got rich by owning what are really social resources which should be public.
