Vote as Oath

Latest

Every opening to every door,
every dissent to every decision,
every fight you didn’t flinch on,
and showdown you showed up to,
every outpour and outcry
that you’ve followed or led,
has brought you
here.

See the anchor of our future
lifting from its nightmare,
breaking the surface of change.
May you list all the loves that love you,
With the wind singing through the opened doors
of a chapel inside your throat, Hear it: the sound
of a nation awakened to its purpose.
Be its rise, its charge, its captain, its champion.
Together, we become the ache of a nation alive and free.
See your vote as an oath
to your country’s calling.

Call in the bravery
Call forward what your homes require
To thrive in safety,
To live in harmony.

Because we are here.
We have arrived
Beloved,
ballot ready,
demanding the promise for Our America.
