Editor’s Note: The following is from a Twitter post from Moms4Housing at @moms4housing. Moms4Housing is a collective of unhoused and insecurely housed mothers, organizing to reclaim vacant homes from real estate speculators.

Five months from now, #oakland will elect a new mayor for the first time in eight years.

Hear from #OakMayor candidates on their plans to address #homelessness and the housing affordability crisis at the #OakMayor Forum on June 18, 2022 at 3 PM west coast time. Oakland Mayoral Candidates will speak on the issues impacting your family in a free, nonpartisan forum presented by Moms 4 Housing with support from Care 4 Community.

Candidates will give opening and closing statements. Local grassroots organizations will ask questions of importance and concern for the communities they serve, and each candidate will have the opportunity to make their position on these issues clear to the public. Community members can submit questions for the forum by emailing info@oaklandc4c.org.
