From Democracy Now! Report:

Ahead of Tuesday’s primary election in Florida, Republican Governor Ron DeSantis’s new Office of Election Crimes and Security made its first arrests of people it alleged engaged in voter fraud in the 2020 election.

Almost all those charged were people who were formerly incarcerated and mistakenly thought they were eligible to vote.

People of all political affiliations “are now being dragged from their homes in handcuffs because all they ever wanted to do was participate in democracy,” says Desmond Meade, President of the Florida Rights Restoration Coalition, who spearheaded an initiative to re-enfranchise people with prior felony convictions, before it was overturned by Republicans.

Visit the link below to see the Democracy Now! interview with Desmond Meade about the meaning of this latest attack on democracy and voting rights where the state tells people they can vote and then turns around and arrests them. “We’re in dangerous times,” says Meade. “The state has now crossed a line in democracy and criminal justice.”

America Cannot Afford This Dangerous Step

Americans should be chilled at government's recent designation of “Antifa” as a domestic terrorist organization (it isn't an organization). This allows for the criminalization of broad swaths of dissent, and won't stop with "Antifa."
