This coming Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2023, for the first time in U.S. history, Chicagoans will elect three (3) district council members in each of the 22 police districts. These positions were created to hold the police accountable (See Chicago Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression: https://www.facebook.com/caarpr)

The fight for community control of the police has been ongoing in 50 years of struggle for the democratic right of the people to have a say in who police their communities and how their communities are policed.
