This 2024 election is gaining on us and the pressure to get to the ballot box is intense and in many states, confusing. Race-based gerrymandering, voter purging, postal service hoarding, fear propaganda —this suppression is created to be inconvenient and exhausting. We cannot give up and walk away in this election. We must be vigilant with our vote. It has to count and it needs to count in big numbers. Don’t take it for granted you are registered. Check your registration status. Make sure your driver’s license is valid and locate your polling place. Don’t take it for granted it’s where it always was. Absolutely do not wait until election day. That tradition could cost you your vote. Vote early! Vote in person or if you plan on a mail-in ballot, take it to the post office and take a picture of yourself handing over your ballot to secure the date you dropped it off. If you are getting the run-around at your polling place, demand an election judge to assist you. Fight for your vote to be counted. Let the world see us united.
