2023 INTERNATIONAL STRUTTER’S ROOM MASTER CAMP & HIP HOP CONGRESS NATIONAL FAMILY REUNION PRESENTS 7 DAYS OF SEMINARS, PERFORMANCES, MIXERS & MORE

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — May 30, 2023/HHC Media – Today, Hip Hop Congress, Inc.—a leader in “spreading Hip Hop cultural awareness and creative exchange to uplift individuals and communities” around the world— releases the announcement of their 10th National Convening & 2023 HHC Family Reunion, commemorating its 30th anniversary as a grassroots cultural network, in alliance with The 2023 Annual International Strutter’s Room Master Camp & Lonnie Green’s Nighttime SF Juneteenth Concert. The 7-day event runs next month, Mon., June 12 – Sun., June 18 at the historic Bayview Opera House located at 4705 3rd St. in San Francisco, CA.

This event recognizes “Hip Hop as more than what’s seen in mainstream media”, said Rahman Jamaal, National Executive Director of Hip Hop Congress, Inc. “Hip Hop and Black cultural expression is a unifier of human potential.”

In observance of the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop, the event will be filled with fun mixers and Juneteenth celebrations; international networking sessions; a women’s empowerment panel; HHC training for artists and chapters; a Panel of Twelve Extreme Popping Battle; impactful seminars that include local artist and youth performances; and an SF Bay Area Hornblower Yacht Cruise on the evening of Thursday, June 15th.

The opening night of June 12th, KQED will present HHC National Education Director Lonnie “PopTart” Green, who will introduce The Day Before Hip Hop in California and the Inner-City foundation of Boogaloo, Robottin & Struttin. All are invited to The Bay Area to kick-off the week-long Juneteenth festivities, which culminates in a PPV live-streamed nighttime Juneteenth concert event on the evening of Sun. June 18th. Tickets to the Hip Hop Congress Reunion daytime activities are donation-based, tax-deductible, and open to the public.

ABOUT THE STRUTTERS ROOM Born out of the Black Power Movement in Northern California, The Strutter’s Room was established in 1978 to maintain the legacy of the funk/soul/party and competitive dance movement in The Bay Area. Strutting originated in 1975 by San Francisco’s inner-city Black families who migrated from the South in the 1940’s. (thestruttersroom.com). ABOUT HIP HOP CONGRESS, INC.
