Lead in Flint water
Poison in Syrian air
Cancer in the dirt,
Cancer on the airwaves,
Tumors in the White House.
Daily absurdity,
too much for a poet to keep up with,
so I just write these words
and pray for the bees to survive.
What will the flowers do
when the buzzing stops?
