Editor’s note: A series of special hearings being convened in Latin America and the US by the International Tribunal of Conscience of Peoples in Movement and others is culminating Oct. 14-16 with hearings in Mexico City. The hearings are being livestreamed, and you can register at this link. The hearings have dealt with the crimes of the Trump regime and its predecessors and accomplices against immigrants and refugees within US borders, and internationally against countries such as Venezuela, Cuba, Colombia, Iran and Gaza, among others. A binational hearing focused on issues related to the United States and Mexico was held in El Paso, Texas and Ciudad Juárez (Mexico) in September. The hearings this week (Oct. 14-16) in Mexico City-Tenochtitlan are focused on issues related to Latin America and the Caribbean and on a global scale, such as the case of genocide in Gaza and other current cases (see the posters below in English and Spanish for more details). The Tribunal’s findings will be disseminated globally on December 10, 2026 (International Human Rights Day) and December 18, 2026 (International Migrant’s Day).

Other conveners of the Mexico City hearings include the National Lawyers Guild, International Association of Democratic Lawyers, American Association of Jurists, Witness at the Border, and the People’s Movement for Peace and Justice, among others.

The hearing dates in Mexico City are timed to coincide with the UN’s observances of World Food Day on October 16 and of the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty on October 17.
