A hefty bag
Of her belongings
And a cushion to sit on
Around the corner
From the Cuban
Sandwich shop
In Little Havana,
Middle of August
When it’s hot, in the alley
Behind the bakery,
She claims her spot.
Most days strangers
Give her enough
