for war to cease
for kids to breathe
for love’s increase

I pray for youth
for guns to truce
for hate to lose
for freedom, too

I pray for calm
for respite from harm
for bombs to disarm
for cold hearts to warm

I pray for strife’s end
for foe to turn friend
for a message to send
for a better world,
amen
