ICE Terror Campaign Threatens Us All

Agents Increasingly Violent, and Now Haitians Are Targeted

Editor’s note: Below are links to several Facebook reels that show the increasing level of violence being applied by ICE, Border Patrol, other agencies and bounty hunters in Los Angeles and elsewhere as the government ramps up its campaign of terror against immigrants and citizens alike, including protestors. And now the campaign has been widened to include 500,000 Haitians who formerly had protected status. These videos also show the resistance being offered by community members and others.

As one of the video creators, @quadzillahikes, put it: “Anyone that understands history knew this was coming, that these raids and ICE was not about immigration, but about creating a secret police force in a police state to police the entire US population…[There was] zero justification for using a breaching charge [to blow open someone’s door in Huntington Park, CA]. This was a deliberate decision to terrorize the citizens of California because they dare to stand up against these Gestapo agents. Well, it is starting in earnest this week. They’ve been assaulting citizens simply for filming them, and now they’re explosively breaching family homes. Help me amplify these messages. Everyone in America needs to see what is happening. This regime is actively waging a campaign of terrorism against US citizens using its secret police forces. Americans need to wake up because this scene is coming to every city, every town all across the US.”

Jenny Ramirez, a citizen who was at home in Huntington Park with her two young children when heavily armed federal agents blew her front door open with explosives, told reporters she has a message for those coordinating ICE operations: “Please before you do anything, please make sure that the people are not getting hurt. There’s children. There’s innocent people. I know you’re against criminals but we’re not criminals. Not the whole world is criminals. I’m just begging for mercy, to please let it end. Please.”

Democracy Shouldn’t Be a Luxury

A democracy should want every eligible person to vote. Given the attack on voting rights, including the attack on the mail in ballot, working class people may find it difficult to vote. The right to vote belongs to the American people, not parties.
