Nobody is coming to save us. We have to save ourselves. We ARE saving ourselves!

In October, seven million of us hit the streets to protest the rising Trump dictatorship in ‘No Kings‘ protests. Five months later, expectations are that 15 million of us will be out on Saturday, March 28. Below are photos from recent protests of people sending their voices and demands to Trump and the billionaire class in hand-made signs. The photos are by People’s Tribune reporters and by photographer friends who are out each day documenting the people’s movement for all of us.

A lot has changed since last November. Today we’re seeing our tax dollars blatantly handed over to make profits for big corporations, particularly energy, defense and high-tech companies. Increasingly, more public money goes towards detaining our neighbors based on how they look or sound — families, children and citizens and non-citizens — and for building for-profit border walls and brutal, profitable detention centers.  Another disturbing development is the effort to build more detention centers like Alligator Alcatraz. Plans are underway for concentration camps that can imprison anyone that the administration deems a threat. Meanwhile, no one has been charged in the most horrific exposure of crimes against children and young women by the Epstein class.

We Resist!

We’re seeing unprecedented numbers of ordinary people, many of whom have never protested before, show their morality, aid their neighbors and join the movement to abolish ICE.

Now, we face an even larger threat. An illegal immoral war against Iran, a sovereign nation that is no threat to the U.S., is waged, even though the majority of the American people want peace, not war. This war threatens all of humanity. Hospitals, schools, neighborhoods, historic sites, and civilian infrastructure are bombed indiscriminately, killing children and adults. War and the assassination of foreign leaders that our rulers cannot control must not be normalized. The US does not have the right to bomb another country because a country doesn’t do what the U.S. demands.

Congress is now discussing a proposal for $200 billion more tax dollars for this illegal war while at the same time ushering in more social cuts, rising gas prices, slashing of food stamps and health care, and even threatening Social Security and Medicare. This is the present war economy.

Just think what could be done with those billions if we had a government that truly represents the people, not the profits of billionaires and their corporations.

We hope that you will attend a No Kings protest where you live. It’s very important to show the force of the people. Some say protests do little, but protests of millions send a message that we are growing in numbers and unity, and that we have demands that must be respected. When new people come to a protest, we meet others, join groups, educate each other, and our awareness of the need for resistance and organization grows. When we are fully awake in the tens of millions, we will be unstoppable. Only the people can save humanity. We keep us safe!

Glimpses of the Terror Inside a Detention Hotspot

The patch pictured above appears on the uniforms of some guards at "Alligator Alcatraz" in Florida. Below the grim reaper riding on an alligator are two human skulls, similar to the Totenkopf or death's head that the Nazis who ran and guarded German WWII concentration camps had on their SS uniforms.
