fast food fascism
by Gregory Pond
this is the land
of the never been free
home of the no longer brave
where the only thing self-evident
is that the truth has always been irrelevant
and all men aren’t created to be equal
women’s choice not intended to be legal
in this nation where hate and inflation
has caused civil rights and d.e.i.
to hitch a ride on back of an eagle
who is ready to hit the road
now that fascism’s standing
on the fast-food line
but you can only fool some
of the people all of the time
wearing a burger king crown
pretending to be the royal kind
acting like some jack-in-the-box clown
who’s out of his mcdonald mind!
